Our Progress
June 2005: : established our first school for 28 orphaned boys (Padhknow-e-shana Orphanage) to study math, history, science, Dari, Pashto, and English (all writing and reading), and Islamic studies. To date, enrollment has increased to 43 orphaned boys.

August 2005: Co-sponsored a basketball tournament at CSUEB campus to raise funds and awareness.
November 2005: Padkhow-e-shana Orphanage school for boys begins the registration process with the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan, teaching government-approved curriculum and following the standards set by the Ministry.
March 2006: Girls Literacy and Vocational Training School opens. An estimated 50 students are currently officially enrolled, although attendance is at about 80 students. 2 well-accredited professors (war-widows) head this school, teaching lessons in Islamic studies, sewing, Dari and Pashto (writing and reading), math, and science.

November 2007: Officially became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the U.S. government.
December 2007: End of the 3rd year of basic studies has completed in the orphanage & the 2nd year has ended for the girl’s school. As of today, enrollment has increased to 43 students with 3 professors on staff at the Padkhow-e-Shana orphanage & attendance is at over 80 students at the girl’s school with 2 full-time war widow teachers and one part-time teacher.
March 2007: English studies will also be added to lessons at the orphanage now that the basics of the native languages of Dari & Pashto have been studied.
May 2009: Hired a 3rd part-time teacher at the Girls Literacy & Vocational Training Facility (G.L.A.V.T.)& increased the official enrollment by 30 students.
December 2009: C.A.H.P. currently employs three full time teachers at the orphaned boys’ school & enrollment is at 40 boys. We also employee three part-time teachers & one full-time teacher at the G.L.A.V.T. facility with official enrollment at 135 students.
